WRRF Project Program Charter Signing

On May 14, 2014 the City of San Luis Obispo (City), partnered with Water Systems Consulting (WSC) and HDR,  made a commitment to the vision and the mission of the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) Project. The commitment was captured through the Program Charter, which integrates the Triple Bottom Line approach by establishing social, economic, and environmental objectives for the project which will guide all project decisions.  The Program Charter also defines guiding principles to set the norms and values for the project team members.

Steve Smith’s (WRRF maintenance staff) cooked a delicious BBQ lunch, and City staff set the stage for Katie Lichtig (City Manager), Carrie Mattingly (Utilities Director), Dave Hix (Utilities Deputy Director – Wastewater), and Jeff Szytel (Program Manager) to express their enthusiasm and excitement for the path set for the Project.

After the presentations, City Council members, City staff from various departments within the City, and the Program Management Team, signed the Program Charter and solidified their commitment to create a community asset that is recognized as supporting health, well-being and quality of life.
